Rahyeon Ahn
5th Year Veterianry Student
My name is Rahyeon, and I am currently in my fifth year of veterinary studies at the University of Queensland. My path toward becoming a veterinarian traces back to my childhood when I was just 12 years old, driven by a desire to care for my beloved companion, Ruby. However, it was the unexpected turn of events during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021 that profoundly altered my trajectory. Taking a hiatus from veterinary school, I enlisted in the Republic of Korea Army as a medic, an experience that would shape my future in unforeseen ways.
During my service, I had the privilege of encountering remarkable mentors whose guidance and insight ignited a passion for surgical oncology within me. Working alongside esteemed veterinary surgical oncologists, I found myself drawn deeper into this specialised field, solidifying my resolve to pursue it as a career. Inspired by these experiences, I embarked on a journey to create a platform, a website, with the aim of disseminating valuable clinical knowledge to both the general public and fellow professionals in the veterinary industry.
Just as I once gleaned invaluable insights from Dr. Julius' website, I aspire to pay it forward by sharing the wisdom I have acquired from my mentors and peers. Through this platform, I endeavor to document my progression towards becoming an oncology surgeon and entrepreneur, with a steadfast commitment to making a positive impact on the world.
In crafting this website, I aim to capture the essence of my journey, from its humble beginnings to the aspirations that drive me forward. I am immensely grateful for the opportunities that have shaped my path thus far, and I am eager to embrace the challenges and triumphs that lie ahead. Together, let us embark on a journey of growth, learning, and the pursuit of excellence in veterinary medicine.

IF, Black Labrador
Meet If, the shining light and greatest source of joy in my life. Born on January 10th, 2017, she entered my world unexpectedly during a cross-country journey. It was a serendipitous encounter that compelled me to shorten my travels and bring her into my home.
If's name is a reflection of her significance in my life. Like the concept of life itself, she appeared seemingly out of nowhere, yet has remained a constant presence ever since. Unlike most of her breed, she hates swimming and is easily startled. However, her enthusiasm for fetching is just like other labradors!
